Fox Valley Catholic Bible Study for Women offers a structured, Catholic daytime Scripture study with a spiritually enriching program for preschool children. Study materials present biblical interpretation consistent with the teachings of the Catholic Church.

This study is intended to provide opportunities for a deepening faith and love of our Lord Jesus Christ. Participants are encouraged to recognize and strengthen the Body of Christ within their home parishes. Our study provides a supportive, loving, spiritual environment, fostering and celebrating a sense of community within the larger church. All area women are invited to attend.

WINTER/SPRING 2024 Studies: THE HOLY SPIRIT IN THE BIBLE and EASTER, SEASON OF REALIZED HOPE

Christian belief in the Holy Spirit as the Third Person of the Trinity was not officially defined by the church until the fourth century. But centuries earlier, the Hebrew Scriptures and the New Testament were already describing the action and presence of God’s Spirit. In The Holy Spirit in the Bible, George Smiga unpacks key Scripture passages, exploring the activity of the Spirit at creation, within Israel, in the ministry of Jesus and the early church, and at the end of time. The role of the Holy Spirit in our personal and spiritual lives is also explored.

Easter is the high point of the church year and the very heart of Christian hope, and yet sometimes we are tempted to simply move on once Easter Sunday is over. Easter, Season of Realized Hope invites us to linger a bit. Join the women who visit the tomb of Jesus in the early morning and encounter the risen Lord. Travel with the disciples walking to Emmaus and let your heart burn with recognition. Learn from Paul what a difference it makes that Christ is risen. Let your deepest hopes be realized.

Our Winter/Spring 2024 studies will be held at St. John Neumann Parish (2900 E. Main St, St Charles, IL). The Holy Spirit in the Bible will be held from February1st to March 14th. Easter, Season of Realized Hope will be held from April 11th to April 25th. A zoom only option is also available.

We gather at 9am. A speaker will give a reflection on the weekly lesson at 9:15am, followed by small group discussions. The $30 fee includes the study materials. Structured childcare is offered for children age 2 through 6 for a one-time fee of $10 per child. Children under 2 will stay with their mothers in a special group.

Partial and full scholarships are available upon request.

Directions to the church and online registration are available on this website. Please register early. We look forward to studying with you.
